Shen Tan

Chef Shen Tan ditched her corporate suit (former Events Director from Forbes) for a hawker’s apron at Maxwell Food Centre with Madam Tan’s Nasi Lemak. She earned her cooking stripes with her award winning nasi lemak. She then expanded her repertoire at The Wok & Barrel to create exciting Mod-Sin dishes followed by the opening of Ujong at Raffles Hotel.

She has continued in her tradition of mod sin creativity with her current role as Culinary Director of Gastrogig, specialising in custom events and pop up events. She is constantly innovating and pushing the boundaries of Modern Singaporean cuisine. As chef/ownder of private dining experience, Ownselfmake Chef, she explores Singaporean and South East Asian flavours with her private themed dinners. Chef Shen has also travelled widely to participate in Street Food Festivals in Italy and UAE, winning top spot in the Street Food Festival in Palermo, 2016.
